Geography

The Municipality of Albert is located in southwestern Manitoba. The municipality shares its west border with the Province of Saskatchewan, and its east border with the R.M. of Cameron. West of Brandon, the municipality is also just 95 kilometres from a U.S. border crossing at Boissevain. The communities of Broomhill and Tilston are the largest centres in the R.M. Albert is easily accessible by a number of Provincial highways. Provincial Trunk Highway 83 passes right through the municipality. Provincial Roads 345, 252 and 256 also service the municipality.

The 3 creeks in the region (Jackson, Graham and Stoney) add to the scenic beauty of this part of western Manitoba.

Economic Base

Agriculture is understandably, the heart of the economy of the R.M. of Albert. With its good connection to major transportation routes, the municipality is highly connected to markets in Saskatchewan, the United States and western Manitoba. Because of this, agriculturally based companies will find Albert a good place to locate. The communities in Albert meet the basic needs of its residents, yet residents must travel to the larger centres like the Town of Melita, Virden and even Deloraine.
