History
The Rural Municipality of Eriksdale had its beginnings in 1904, when Swedish pioneer Jonas Erikson built a log cabin immediately north of the present Village of Eriksdale site. His son Manny, built his cabin a short distance away and numerous early pioneers spent the first night of their stay in this new land, in "Manny's Shack". Though many pioneers came from Sweden, many other nationalities make up the multicultural collage of Erickson today.
