GeographyThe Rural Municipality of Mountain is located in the western portion of central Manitoba. The municipality is split into two regions, Mountain North and Mountain South. Mountain South is located along the western shores of Manitoba's third largest lake, Lake Winnipegosis. Mountain South also shares its western boundary with the scenic Duck Mountain Provincial Forest. Pine River and Sclater are the communities found in Mountain South. The R.M. is easily accessible by Provincial Trunk Highways (PTH) 10 and 20. Provincial Roads 271 and 489 also service the municipality. PTH 10 provides direct access to the United States, and makes Mountain South easily connected to markets in the southern portion of Manitoba and the United States.
