This site offers profiles on 62 Manitoba First
Nations communities. First Nations communities are
found throughout Manitoba and are home to the province's
Aboriginal people. Access to communities is dependent
on their locations. For example, First Nations communities
located south of the 53rd parallel share the same
highway services as other Manitoba communities.
Meanwhile, northern and remote First Nations communities
are limited to access via winter roads, water or
air transport. First Nations communities are self-sufficient
with local amenities such as stores, schools, recreation
complexes and in the case of remote communities,
health facilities.
